16. Tessa Bunney - Visiting Lecturer

Tessa Bunney is a photographer who came in to speak to us about who she is as a photographer and what her work is about. She explained how she got commissioned to do her work and her time in other countries with her family, photographing different things..
She showed us a variety of her work on a powerpoint and explained each one of them, and what she was wanting to portray.

'I have a particular intrest in different landscapes and the way they are shaped by human activity. Working closely with communities and individuals, my explores people relationship to the environment' - Tessa Bunney.

Tessa Bunney work is beautiful and eye capturing but i found that this short video that she put together about a group of women called 'The women of UCT6' is beautiful, memorable and touching.
Its a story of many women and their day job which puts them at risk 24/7.
In the Vietnam war they dropped many missiles and today these women search for the ones that haven't exploded, this is in order to help the country development in the future; for land, crops etc...

take a look at this video...
