L5. 11. Writing a CV

In todays society you must require a CV when applying for a job, but it is also a great way to store you qualifications and achievements and so on.

A CV is basically a document that you provide when applying for a job, it is a document that is advertising you. You are selling yourself to the employer for a job. The CV will require different points of you as an individual, your skills, abilities, qualifications, employes, and experience.
We were asked to produce a skill based cv and i feel like it was one of the most difficult things because i had to talk about myself in a positive way, and I'm not use to doing that. Below is a list for you to look at, basically just saying a few tips when producing a CV, these are what helped me.

  • Reflects your personality
  • selling yourself
  • Keep it relevant and well laid out
  • type it out
  • spell check it
  • avoid long sentences
  • use active words like developed, managed
  • Use a font that is professional.
  • heading will consist of Name, Contact details and a personal statement
the CV that i have just produced is situated below
