exhibition

Exhibition

Initially I was to attend the Free Range photography show that is based on
London once graduating university but unfortunately that has not gone to plan
and now we are only having our graduate show that will take place in June
2016.
I am aiming to produce a series of 12 prints all representing a form of a
church/churches. Taking an abstract look and then I will be documenting the

scenery and outer building of the church.

This is a layout design that I am thinking about and I am happy with the
overall look. The photographs will all be frames in a dark wood and the
photographs will be mounted. I may change the order of the photographs but
that will be decided once I get into my graduate show space and start setting
up.

Market Research

Who am I selling myself too?

There are two parts to this answer one being I would be selling myself to someone in charge of a teaching course, someone who is in charge of a secondary school. Then I would be selling my photography to either art collectors or exhibitions buyers.

After finishing university and graduating in July of 2016, I aim to take a year out to get some qualifications that I need to get onto my PGCE course in 2017 for myself to become a secondary school art teacher. But in the process of the year I will be selling myself to many people, either regarding me getting onto the course to get the qualifications I need for the PGCE, and I am also applying to do a work placement with a secondary school, so in that case I will need to make an appointment and represent myself to the person that will be in charge of the school. Not only that I will also be applying for the PGCE so in that case I will again need to sell myself to the course leader to make it possible for me to be awarded a position on the course.

Where as my photography I would class myself to be a documentary photographer and I am mainly focusing on the exhibition that I have coming up as part of my final degree show for university and so I aim to sell my work, by engaging the viewers and presenting my work and myself in a professional manor.

Who would hire you

I would say my initial market for my style of photography would be a magazine, calendars, newspapers or travel companies.
I tend to produce documentary style photographs, photographs that have a repeat pattern or close up. I try to make my work look like documentary but not be as obvious as too what I am photographing.

What do they expect to see?

Photographers would expect to see a style of photography that is consistent and shows a document of situations or places.

Jobs

Photography Jobs

Since I am graduating this year from university I am in need of a job to pay my bills and to put my degree in photography in use.
I am someone who is interested in teaching as well as photography. My initial idea is to look for a job that incorporated art and design and photography in one.

To start my research I was told about the Guardian is a newspaper that has relevant information about the world, sports but it also has an really good job search. If interested in going on to the guardian newspaper you can click this link https://jobs.theguardian.com/

This section is basically just to help narrow down all of the specific job application to make sure you get the best job for you.

I personally am interested in becoming a secondary school teacher of art and design once I finish university and once I’ve got my final qualifications I need. But if I were interested in this case I would be looking for art and design jobs in secondary schools.

My search may look something like this one above. From this search I came out with the result

The box that is highlighted by the red lines is the job that I am going to look at. It is almost the perfect job for someone who is interested in teaching art and photography like myself.
My initial reaction was to open it up and gain more information regarding the application.

Teacher of Art and Photography

This job is a suitable job for me, it teaches photography and art at the same time. The only down side to it is that it is only part time and not where I live. I wouldn’t mind moving away for a teaching job but it would have to be full time.

I would class myself to be enthusiastic and passionate about what I do, I want to push the school forward and encourage the young people to enjoy what they are doing.
At this present moment I would not be qualified to become a teacher only because I don’t have the qualifications but once getting my qualifications I will be able to apply for a job like this.
Yes applying for a job is worth it, because you never know what is around the corner and you could be surprised
